Couponing at Kroger

To get the lowest possible sale prices, to download digital coupons, and to receive fuel points, you will need a Kroger Plus Shopper’s Card. Visit the Customer Service desk and sign up to receive a shopper’s card there. Every time you check out, ensure that the cashier scans the card. Visit Kroger.com to register your card and to be eligible to download digital coupons that can be redeemed at Kroger.
If you have registered and set up your account and lose, or forget your card, you can still receive savings and fuel points by entering the phone number associated with your account. Kroger has a Scan Right Guarantee that is advertised on signs in the store. This guarantee states that if a product rings up at a price different from the one listed in-store or in-ad, they will give you that product at no cost and each additional identical item purchased will be adjusted to the advertised sale price. If you are shopping and find an empty shelf, don’t worry! Kroger does issue rain checks on out-of-stock items. Most Kroger stores will only issue rain checks on items that are advertised in the current sales ad. If the ad states a disclaimer such as “while supplies last,” “no rain checks,” or “limited quantities,” rain checks will not be issued. Rain checks must be redeemed within 30 days of the issued date and cannot be bought, sold or copied. However, management can limit purchased quantities using a rain check or reject the use of the rain check.

Digital Coupons

To see all of your currently available Kroger digital coupons, visit Kroger.com. To add coupons to your card, simply sign in to your Kroger account or set up a Kroger account and enter your card number. Most digital coupons are paperless MFG coupons that cannot be stacked or combined with any other manufacturer coupons. Digital coupons can only be redeemed once, unless otherwise stated for use in a digital coupon super sale promotion. Promotional eCoupons, known as store coupons, can be stacked with other paper coupons. These special digital coupons are labeled as 5X store coupons. The 5X digitals will be applied up to five times in a single transaction. Be sure to check for any Kroger customer exclusive digital coupons that may be available for download to your Kroger Plus Card. Kroger stores usually offer a free product promotion on Fridays. To get this freebie, visit Kroger.com on the specified date to download the eCoupon. This digital coupon also has a limit of one per shopper’s card.

Catalina Coupons

Kroger stores and affiliates participate in the Catalina “Your Bucks” program. Catalina offers can be found in different ways: by spotting a shelf tag in the store or by receiving an upcoming Catalina advertisement at checkout. Catalina coupon machines are located at registers and dispense receipt-like coupons that can be used on future purchases. Catalina coupons print after a transaction is completed. When shopping for deals that include Catalina offers, be sure to separate transactions accordingly, in order to receive the Catalinas and to pay the lowest final price. Catalina coupons can be used on any future purchase of any item, unless otherwise specified. There is no quantity limit of Catalina coupons that can be redeemed in a single transaction. For example, if you want to stock up on water enhancer products that are producing Catalina coupons, be sure to take note of the Catalina limits. If the Catalina coupon is set to print when four products are purchased in a transaction, but you want to buy eight products, split the transactions and you will receive two Catalinas. You can “roll” Catalina coupons, meaning you can split the transactions in order to receive more Catalinas and you can also pay with Catalina coupons per split transactions. Catalina coupons do expiration dates just like most coupons, so be sure to redeem them before the date listed on each coupon.

Fuel Points

Most Kroger stores have Kroger fuel centers on the premises or close by. Fuel points are earned by purchasing items with a shopper’s card. Fuel points are accumulated and can be redeemed to save up to $1.00 per gallon of gasoline. Customers save $0.10 per gallon for every 100 points redeemed. Once fuel points are redeemed, they are no longer available for use until more points are accrued. Some Kroger fuel stations have posted limits for gallons of gas that can be purchased using the fuel points discount. Sometimes Kroger will offer a fuel points promotion. During these special promotions, customers can earn double, triple, or up to four times the amount of fuel points for products purchased that are included in the promo. Always be sure to check for fuel points coupons in the weekly sales ad and at Kroger.com. Fuel points are also earned on prescriptions that are filled in the Kroger pharmacy. Some receipts will offer a survey that can be taken to earn additional fuel points.

Mega Savings Event

Kroger sale cycles often feature a Mega Savings Event. With this type of promotion, purchase a specified quantity of included items and save a specified amount at the register. Mega Savings Events are typically listed as buy 4, save $4.00; buy 5, save $5.00; or buy 10, save $5.00. These sales typically run for two weeks. To get the lowest price (Mega Sale price), you will need to use a shopper’s card. Pair printable, newspaper or digital coupons with items purchased in this promo and save even more on your total grocery bill. Customers are not required to purchase a set quantity of each specific sale item in order to receive the discount. Items included in the promotion can be mixed or matched. Most of the time, there are no limits in the Mega Sale promotion, but always be sure to double check before you load your cart. This information can be found in the sales advertisement, on signs at the store, or by asking a customer service representative or manager.

10 for $10.00 Sale

Kroger often has the popular 10 for $10.00 sale. Items in this sale are advertised as 10 for $10.00, but you do not have to purchase ten items in order to get each item for $1.00. Any quantities purchased will ring up for $1.00 each at the register with a shopper’s card. This same scenario and price breakdown also applies to items that are marked 2/$5.00, meaning each item will ring up for $2.50, and you are not required to purchase two items to get the lowest sale price.

5X Digital Savings Event

Kroger stores often offer a 5X Digital Savings Event, where customers can download special eCoupons that can be redeemed up to five times in a single transaction. These sales typically run for two weeks. On the second week of the sale, the digital coupons will be available for download again. 5X digital coupons are recognized as store/promotional coupons that can be stacked with other paper manufacturer coupons.
